Distance Survey Schunnemunk 2 – Lilly Schelling

The deer will usually stop when the light is shining on them, but not for long! So surveyors must be quick at getting a group count, an angle, a distance, and determining the age and sex of the deer. Often other animals are observed as well. On this particular survey evening we saw two red foxes, a skunk, a raccoon, a rattlesnake and a copperhead snake.
